Depens (penicillamine): Depends on the medication. There are many different classes of pain medications. Some addictive and some not. If you really have pain and you use it as prescribed, they due help decrease the symptoms. If you are using it for recreational reasons, then definitely not good. Some of them also damage the liver and kidneys if used inappropriately.

Yes and No: Pain medications are beneficial when used as prescribed for short periods of time. During terminal illness, pain medications are a must. They are not good due to the high addictive propensity it can impose. Use pain medication as prescribed and for a short period of time.
