A member asked:

I have pain very similar to menstrual cramps 2-3 days after having sex, and what could this be? it's only been the last few months. sex hasn't changed

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Think muscles: ?Pelvic floor hypertonicity disorder (pfhd). Some women have high tone in pelvis. Sexual activity causes the muscles to contract more thus more spasm. Unique nature of these muscles, this doesn't feel like muscle pain but can be uterine, bladder, vaginal or rectal discomfort, usually for 2-3 days after sex. Treatment pelvic floor pt & meds. Heavy lifting like emt is risk for this condition.
