Unproven-suggested: Several large studies on cvd suggest that there is an association between cvd and poverty. The variables in the studies were not controlled and therefore the results were not proven. Poverty in the us is associated with a diet high in cholesterol and saturated fats, tobacco usage and increased alcohol intake. These factors are known to be associated with cvd and be confounding the data.
