A few ways: Proper supportive shoe wear will help. Ice to the area after activity as well as stretching before and after activity will also help.

Rest: Lay off running for a week or two and participate in a more low impact exercise such as swimming, gradually add running back to tolerance. If this doesn't work get seen by a sports medicine specialist.
