A member asked:

How do you know if a teen has an eating disorder?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Anorexia: Look for signs like preoccupation with weight, dieting and exercise; ritual behavior like frequent hand washing; complaint of headaches, constipation, amenorrhea (no period); if the teen outright views themselves as fat when they obviously are not. Frequently they will try to hide their body by wearing baggy clothes or will lie about when they last ate.
