Anemia to leukemia..: Children with fanconi anemia or diamond-blackfan anemia have a relatively high risk of developing leukemia. Children with myelodysplastic syndrome (mds), which can cause anemia, can eventually cause acute myelogenous leukemia (aml). Similarly, myelofibrosis can cause anemia and eventual leukemia.
