What exactly is by stranger anxiety?

Normal development: Before 6 months of age, a kiddo is generally friendly with most people. At about 6 months, they start to get anxious about anyone but their immediately family. This so-called "stranger anxiety" can apply to friends of the family or occasionally seen relatives and is generally completely normal.

Normal in toddlers: Stranger anxiety is a normal part of infant and toddler development as the baby begins to distinguish family members from people they don't see very often. It appears around 4 - 6 months of age and sometimes again in the 12-24 month window.
