It depends...: Women who suffer from depression and take anti-depressant medications usually do quite well on oral contraceptive pills. The pills themselves are not known to cause emotional symptoms. If emotional or psychological symptoms do begin after starting the pill, it may signal that there was an undiagnosed problem that already existed. If this does happen, please see your doctor for treatment.
