Birth defect: It's one or more extra fibers in the heart that make for chaotic rhythm in the atria and maybe the ventricles. One person in may be 400 is born with it, and of these, maybe 1% will die suddenly from it, and several more % will have annoying and often dangerous rhythm problems that can produce stroke. Consider radioablation of the fibers if your WPW is troublesome == i'd opt for it.
