Needs exam.: This could be as simple as irritation from friction (if you move your arms a lot) or something more complex, such as a skin infection, or swelling of the axillary lymph nodes, or even shingles. I would suggest that you have your doctor or a dermatologist examine you at your earliest convenience.

Have it evaluated: A cyst or a furuncle ("boil") can cause these symptoms in the axilla. A swollen lymph node can also cause pain/discomfort. Lymph nodes may be swollen due to infection or injury but there are also more serious causes such as lymphoma. Therefore i recommend that you see a doctor for an evaluation.
