Diet/exercise: Thyroid disease does not affect the weight loss equation. Eat less and exercise more. If you are on thyroid replacement mak sure your th is in the low normal range. Diets are not good methods for long term weight loss. Need to change lifestyle and approach and sustain gradual loss of about 1 lb / 1-2 weeks.

After that, it's up to you to watch what you eat, and exercise to burn more calories than you eat. Lifting weights can help build muscle gradually which can increase your metabolism & help with the weight loss good luck - it can be done!

Diet and exercise: On top of taking your thyroid hormone, the most important things to do are to eat healthy and exercise. Taking the thyroid hormone to keeo levels normal will not make you lose weight but will avoid faster weight gain.

Under-active thyroid: You should not allow yourself to have "under-active thyroid". You most likely need to take thyroid medicine. Check with your PC.
