Is it normal for a baby to have jaundice after 24hr of giving birth?

Newborn jaundice: Yes. Physiological jaundice starts after 24 hours, peaks arounfd day 3-4 days, tapers off and disappears within 7 to 10 days but it make take longer for breastfed babies. Jaundice appearing within the first 24 hours is always abnormal.

Yes: Babies disposal system was handled by you through the placenta up until the cord was cut. At that point all the mundane issues of metabolism shift to baby.
