Yes: Babies disposal system was handled by you through the placenta up until the cord was cut. At that point all the mundane issues of metabolism shift to baby. They are transitioning to air-breather blood cells from in the womb cells which requires work that transiently makes them jaundiced. It gradually gets batter as baby catches up with the work.Your doc will know if it is too much.
