In about 24-48 hours: If the diagnosis is truly bv, you should expect to have some improvement in 24-48 hours after starting treatment. Several regimen: 500mg tab 2x/day for 7 days, 2000mg single dose, or extended release 750mg daily x7 days. Avoid alcohol while taking this med and for 2-3 days after last dose to avoid very unpleasant side effect: severe vomitting. Consult doc. Good luck.
