Not a concern: If you're taking it regularly, then it likely will show up. So long as you are taking it under a doctor's prescription and supervision, taking it as prescribed and the side effects don't interfere with your work, you should have little to fear if it shows up on a urine drug screen. The main point of these tests is to find people abusing drugs, not taking them by prescription.

Within hours: Adipex or Phentermine has an amphetamine-like nucleus, and will usually show up as amphetamine within a few hours of ingestion. More definitive testing, beyond the initial screen, can differentiate Phentermine from other amphetamines. If you are being tested for job or legal issues, and have a prescription, it should not pose a problem, but you need to make sure they do definitive testing.
