A member asked:

Is it possible for itching to be a sign of celiac disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: There's an itchy skin condition called dermatitis herpetiformis that occurs in about 1/4 of the people with celiac disease. Of all the people with dermatitis herpetiformis, about 85% have celiac -- and it may be the only symptom of celiac they have. When gluten is removed from the diet, the skin problem often goes away.
