Essentially, yes: Kids with as sound like " little professors." they talk about favorite topics without conversational give-&-take( pragmatics) & without typical use of tempo, pitch & loudness (prosody). Kids with hfa struggle with language, but quickly figure out how to make something work by seeing & handling it. Both have "normal" full-scale iq, >70, & underlying deficits in processing social/emotional input.
