What're some good tips for post-accident whiplash?

4 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

See below: Most people with whiplash injuries recover without any permanent problems. It is important to be evaluated to make sure there are no serious issues related to the accident but if not, rapid resumption of normal activities is important. Use of acetomenophen and perhaps an antiinflammatory can be helpful. Early mobilization with physical therapy can also be done. Most people do not have to stop work.

Treat symptoms: "whiplash" is rarely serious and involves a stretching of the muscles and ligaments in the neck. Like any other stretch injury, rest, heat, massage, and mild anti inflammatory medications will eventually resolve the problem.
