Why can't you pop a blackhead?

Scarring.: Nearly all acne scarring is caused by people squeezing their pimples. So if you like having scars on your face, go right ahead. If you don't, keep your hands off of your face.

Pop ?: Blackheads are dark because of pigment in the ridge like edge (think volcano) of this feature. You can squeeze stuff (sebum) out, but this opens the skin to germ invasion it would not have otherwise. That germ invasion will create deep tissue scarring in the long run. Blackheads are not little cysts with cork like plugs, they are a transitional feature of the skin that needs to be left alone.
