A member asked:

I have a locked knee, and it hurts really bad, is there anyway to get my knee un-locked?

Emergency room: If your knee is locked you likely have a meniscal tear. I assume this happened today ? If you cannot straighten your leg have it evaluated. If necessary the emerg. Doc. Can sedate you and once relaxed can straighten the knee and immobilize it until you can get a more thorough evaluation by orthopedics.

Locked knee: Unfortunately a locked knee means something has blocked movement. This can be a cartilage injury or loose body, meniscus tear. Occasionally a large plica may feel like it locks. Best bet at this point is to see your orthopedic surgeon.
