Not recommended: Strict "dieting" can be harmful and is not recommended. Staying physically active and choosing healthy foods would be more beneficial in a long run.

? define diet ?: If a teen is overweight s/he is obviously going down a path that is bad for their health. Rather than a "diet", that teen needs to adopt a different way of eating/ activity that might help drop some weight but would definitely be better for their life. The low carb life has been looked at in teens and found to be safe. Learning about food density and portion control can help the most.
