No: Most people with trachs learn to swallow with the new sensation. Inflated cuff or too tight ties will interfere with swallowing.

Not necessarily : A dysphagia specialist can help determine if there is anything that can be done to treat dysphagia related to a tracheostomy. Usually, dysphagia is not related to the tracheostomy itself but to the medical problem that required the tracheostomy to be performed.
