A member asked:

Still can't take a poop after colace (docusate sodium) what's the problem?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Constipation: Colace is a stool softener and may not be adequate to trigger a bowel movement right away. Other products such as MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) may be more effective. Try to avoid stimulating laxatives such as ex-lax or ducolax if you can.
