It depends: In such situations it depends on how well the patient's tumor is responding to the chemo. The side effects are critical, and the patients level of function. If the tumor is shrinking, but the person is disabled by the treatment it may not be good to continue. If the treatment will cure the disease it might be worth it. If the person has other severe illness you may stop. Talk to the oncologist.
