What does it mean if my ears ring a lot?

See your dentist: First, see your md to make sure you don't have an ear problem. It he/she says you don't, then you may find relief by seeing a dentist. Sometimes jaw joint (TMJ) problems can contribute to ringing of the ears (tinnitus). Your dentist may suggest a bite appliance. Also, some medications can produce this side effect.

See ENT then dentist: It sounds like you are experiencing temporomadibular joint disorder. This disorder can come and go throughout a lifetime or become constant. Signs of tmd are pain in the jaw, ear aches, headaches, popping and clicking, and can cause your jaw to lock. This condition is usually brought on by stress, however can develop overtime if your dental bite is not properly aligned. I suggest a prosthodontist.
