Controversial.: Prophylactic chemotherapy after molar evacuation is widely practiced in developing countries in which poor medical and social resources limit effective follow-up. However, this practice, which may cause later chemoresistance, is controversial and lacks universal acceptance. Consider prophylactic chemotherapy only in: HCG >100, 000, large theca lutein cysts >6 cm, significantly large uterus.

Molar pregnancy: There are 2 types of molar pregnancy. Complete and partial miles. 15% of women with complete moles and 5% of women with partial moles will have the disease come back as or become gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (gtn). When this happens chemotherapy is needed to treat.
