Pontine inflamm. dis: Chronic lymphocytic inflammation with pontine perivascular enhancement responsive to steroids (clippers) is a treatable disoder. Pts. Develop ataxic gait double vision slurred speech and tingling of the face. Imaging studies reveal a characteristic pattern of punctate and cuvilinear enhancement involving the pons medulla and midbrain. Treatment wih high dose IV steroids + chronic immunosuppression.
