Get treated: When you have an std, you should get it treated and then abstain from sex until you're no longer infectious. It is not necessary to disclose a history of past stds, provided there is no risk to your partner. Hiv is a special case. You should disclose your HIV status to your partners before having sex with them.

Yes but: It would be a manifestation of an ideal world if things such as STDs were known to all partners. It is a personal but not a legal issue although transmission of a STD might be a cause of a civil action.
