Anticonvulsants: Both Phenobarbital and Phenytoin are anticonvulsant drugs. Anticonvulsant agents have been shown to affect fetuses and can cause birth defects. If you are taking these drugs, you should speak with your doctor regarding planning a pregnancy and what drugs you can safely use during pregnancy.
