Multiple ways: There might be a few reasons for the sensitivity. First, upper molars can react this way if you have severe allergies or sinus infections. Second, if there are old, failing fillings in the teeth, you may have decay under them requiring removal of the filling and decay and filling replacement or crowns. In addition, if you have had gum problems in the past, you may have exposed roots causing this.
