Is tetanus contagious?

No: You will not get tetanus from exposure to a person with the disease. The infected person cannot spread it by coughing, mucous secretions or other debris like a flu or cold. You get tetanus from spores(eggs) of a bacteria that germinate in a wound and create the tetanus toxin.

No: Tetanus is not contagious in the standard sense where you "catch it" from another person. Tetanus is typically acquired when an unimmunized person has contact between broken skin and an object contaminated with clostridium tetani bacteria.

Not Contagious: Even though Tetanus is an infectious disease caused by a Bacteria which enters the body through a contaminated wound in people who have not been immunized against this disease,But it is not contagious from person to person
