Medications vary: While different types of medication can be used to treat various aspects of borderline personality disorder, individual psychotherapy is the cornerstone treatment for this condition. Augmentation of individual therapy, such as dialectical behavioral therapy (dbt), and group therapy may occur with medication classes including antidepressants and mood stabilizers including anticonvulsants and atypical antipsychotics.
