Maybe: It depends on what bleeding disorder you have. I recommend you talk to your hematologist, and he can discuss the risks, if any, of elective surgery.

Depends: The two most important questions are what bleeding disorder and what type of surgery you're seeking. In some cases, bleeding disorders can be managed around the time of surgery. Further, with mild bleeding disorder, certain maneuvers can be performed during surgery to minimize bleeding and minimize the risk of post-operative bleeding.

May be risky: Patients with bleeding disorders may be at higher risk of surgical complications. I would recommend that you discussed this with your plastic surgeon, and consider seeing a hematologist for an opinion regarding your surgical risk. It is possible that if the 2 specialists to discuss your case, they may be able to put together the safest plan. However, they may advise you not to have surgery.

Maybe.: Much will depend on exactly what the bleeding disorder is an exact what procedure you are seeking. Most plastic surgeons will ask that you be evaluated by a hematologist prior to proceeding. This evaluation will be very helpful in determining whether or not to proceed and what precautions, if any should be taken around the time of your procedure. Best wishes.

Depends: It depends on the procedure you are having, (big/small, invasive/not-invasive). It also depends on your particular bleeding disorder. Sometimes steps can be taken to control the bleeding before it becomes a problem. Sometimes medicine and blood products can be on "stand by" in case you need them. The plastic surgeon will usually confer with your primary doctor and/or hematologist for insight.
