Comfort & presence: A 7-year old is getting curious about the world beyond home and family, and yet needs your comfort and care. Has someone in the family died, in a storm? Letting the child ask questions about storms and death is important, maybe playing it out with action figures, or drawing. Kids that age remember these losses -- including pets. Important for child to know you're securely there with him/her.
