Depends...: Discharge after retrieval can be related to numerous causes. If you wife is taking vaginal Progesterone this sometimes causes brown/black discharge. Old bleeding/clot can also cause brown discharge. In addition, all the things that can cause discharge in the non-pregnant patient can also be the cause.
