A member asked:

What are the measles?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Measles: Measles is one of the most contagious infectious diseases in humans. Initial symptoms include fever, cough, runny, and conjunctivitis. After 2-4 days, a characteristic erythematous maculopapular rash develops. Symptoms resolve in most cases. Fatal complications include pneumonia and encephalitis (swelling of the brain). Fortunately, the measles vaccine can prevent both.
