Would it be weird to ask the doctor for a toxoplasmosis test?

No: If you are pregnant or considering getting pregnant it could be useful to know of you have immunity to toxoplasmosis although these tests are not routinely done. If you are not immune you would need to avoid cat feces as contracting this in pregnancy is dangerous for the baby.

No: It's not weird to ask for toxo testing if there is a good reason to get it. If you're pregnant and have a cat or work with cats, it's reasonable. If you're not pregnant, toxoplasmosis is a benign parasite that won't really make you sick. You can only get it from dealing with cat poop. If you're pregnant and concerned, having someone else change the litter or using gloves should be sufficient.
