A member asked:

Will going in a tanning bed help me with my seasonal affective disorder?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bad idea: There is a much safer way to treat seasonal depression. Only your eyeballs need the light, and they need it on schedule every morning. A light box that delivers at least 10, 000 lux for at least 20 minutes each morning through fall and winter is a much safer, and more effective, way to treat seasonal affective disorder that doesn't increase risk of skin cancer.
