A member asked:

My wife is 36 and her test results say her sed rate is around 46. what does that mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nothing: As a lab physician myself, the sed rate is one of the test most likely to be wrong, and is of no value at all unless a specific disease is under consideration. Especially when the result is below around 80. It can even depend on her time of month. At best, the sed rate is part of a big picture, not a screen for disease.
