Try Psoas stretches: A common cause of lower abdominal and back pain is the psoas muscle. Inguinal hernia is less likely but possible. A simple self test for psoas strain is put your hand in the sore area. Raise your leg on that side. If it is less sore, it may be the psoas. Roll on your side. Raise the leg to the side. If it is more sore, the muscle may be the problem. If it bulges with these, hernia is likely.
