A member asked:

How do diuretics inhibit the action of aldosterone?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Counteracts effects: Aldosterone is a hormone produced by the body which acts to reabsorb sodium from the urine, which is very helpful during periods of dehydration. Diuretics counteract this activity by promotng sodium excretion in the urine. There are many types of diuretics but some like spironolactone directly inhibitthe activity of aldosterone.
