What is projectile vomiting?

Glad you asked...: Got a call once: child is vomiting. "how far?" i asked. "out of this room and on the wall of the next one." that's projectile vomiting. We don't see it now as much as we used to because we usually diagnose pyloric stenosis (its most common cause in infants) before it gets that far.

Forceful vomiting: Projectile vomiting is forceful vomiting that will often hit the wall or end up across the room. This can be a sign of a blockage or narrowing of the intestinal tract and should be evaluated by a physician.
