A member asked:

How many people in 2011 had become infected with aids?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Estimates: Around 34 million people are believed to be HIV positive, with about 2.7 new infections in 2011. These are estimates but in the past these seems to have been pretty reliable. There's hope that the frequency of new infections is finally decreasing.
