Depends: It really depends on the cause. Palatal blisters are usually caused by hot foods or beverages. The mucosa responds by accumulating clear tissue fluid which is released when the blister bursts. Complete healing usually occurs in from 7 to 10 days if not irritated further by acidic liquids or hard, abrasive foods. Vitamin e ointments or oils can enhance healing as it does for most burns.

Up to 14 days: The rule of thumb in dentistry is that any soft tissue issue should heal in 14 days. If not you should see your dentist immediately. If the lesion is painful a laser can be used to not only help reduce pain but also speed up healing.

2 weeks or less: The mouth heals remarkably well when responding to trauma. Most common cause of blister on roof of mouth is burn. All oral lesions should be totally gone in 2 weeks or less. If not, see your Dentist. In the meantime avoid extremes, food that is too hot or to cold, food that is spicy, food that has a rough consistency (such as crispy bread crust).
