Is it normal to bleed heavily after taking the morning after pill?

Over the counter : If you are over 18 it is available without a prescription. The morning after pill will give you irregular bleeding. Ideally it should be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. Consider seeing your obgyn to discuss contraception options. This will keep you from getting pregnant and give you menstrual cycle control.

It can occur.: Potential side effects w emergency contraception include: menstrual flow changes (spotting, bleeding, early or late period), nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, headache, breast tenderness & abdominal pain or cramps. Take pregnancy test & notify dr if your period is 7 or > days late.
