Yes but not for long: Fifth disease, with a "slapped cheek" rash, is caused by parvovirus b19. The infection is common in children, and some people who are infected do not show symptoms. They carry the virus and can pass it on to other people (the virus is spread similarly to the ways cold viruses are spread). Infected persons, with or without symptoms, recover and have immunity against re-infection.
