Pop blisters: If they are from poor shoes, hiking, etc, pop the blisters but do not remove the skin. The skin still serves as a protective barrier. Then apply a protective covering like mole skin. If you are concerned about actual infection- you need to see your physician.

Why are they there: You need to find out why you have the blisters. How large and how many are there? There are multiple conditions that cause blistering on the skin. Small blisters generally will rupture on their own and dry up. If they are large or very numerous you should go to the doctor to have them drained and cleaned in a more sterile environment.
