Pressure neuropathy: Most likely you are putting pressure on a nerve, this is similiar to when you bump your elbow (funny bone) and you feel that strange electrical sensation. If you sit long enough in that position when you go to stand up your foot will be numb and then you will feel pins and needles.....

Nerve compression: You can cause pressure on your peroneal nerve in your leg in this position causing your leg to go numb or tingle.
