Pigment vs scars: It depends on the nature of the scars. Hyperpigmentation scars may benefit from peels and bleaching agents whereas raised scars or irregularities may respond more to resurfacing procedures. Ongoing folliculitis may respond to salicylic acid to minimize future scarring.
