Not modern medicine: Technically, there are no modern medical uses for mescaline, the active hallucinogen in peyote and san pedro cactus. It's illegal except in native american church ceremonies. In these contexts, the intent is to use the plant substances for guidance, decision making, healing, and remaining in balance w/the natural world. It is far from a recreational experience.
